Pharmacy Technician

Career Certification Program
Required Informational Session and Orientation

The Pharmacy Technician program prepares the student to perform technical duties related to the preparation and dispensing of medication under the supervision of registered licensed pharmacists. 

Pharmacy Technicians perform a variety of tasks:
* Obtain prescriptions and verify information is complete and accurate
* Prepare prescriptions - retrieve, count, pour, weigh and  measure medications
* Maintain patient profiles
* Prepare insurance forms
* Stock and take inventory of medications
* Assist customers when appropriate

Program Prerequisites:
* High School Diploma or GED
* Informational Session and Orientation
* TABE Assessment Testing - Reading 10th grade level / Math 10th grade level
