Students celebrate start of school year with Back to School Picnic

Students at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center celebrated the start of a new school year with a Back to School Picnic on Friday, September 9. The annual event caps off the first week of school for students.

With students from 13 districts attending the Career Center and 22 programs to choose from, the picnic is the first opportunity for students to gather as a whole and get to know one another at the start of the year. This year’s picnic featured a DJ, food and fun games.

“We’re excited about the start of a new school year here at MCCTC. With higher enrollment this year, it’s important that our students have the chance to interact with one another early on. Throughout the year, regardless of what programs they are in, our students will be working together and this is important that they establish relationships early on,” John Zehentbauer, Career Technical Director, said.
